How to read fragrance notes

Use top, heart and base notes as a map for your next scent discovery.

How to read fragrance notes
A note list is a way of describing the experience of a fragrance. Top notes describe the opening impression, heart notes shape its character and base notes describe the foundation. They are not a complete ingredient list. Start by noticing a note you already enjoy: rose, saffron, musk or a woody impression. Use the note filter in our collection to compare products that share it. The same note can feel different when paired with amber, florals or woods. If you have an ingredient sensitivity, ask for the actual ingredient information before purchasing. A scent-family label or a creative note description cannot confirm what is in the formula.
